Philomath City Councilor Catherine Biscoe is among the new appointments to Oregon’s Local Officials Advisory Committee.

The Oregon Department of Land Conservation and Development and the Land Conservation and Development Commission announced the appointments last week. Membership includes elected officials from both urban and rural cities and counties and reflects the geographic diversity of the state.

Biscoe joins five other new members on the committee: Benton County Commissioner Nancy Wyse, Marion County Commissioner Colm Willis, Morrow County Commissioner Melissa Lindsay, West Linn City Councilor Rory Bialostocky and Coburg Mayor Ray Smith.

Committee members serve two-year terms to advise and assist the Department of Land Conservation and Development and the Land Conservation and Development Commission on its policies and programs affecting local governments.

The group plans to hold its first meeting this spring.
