The Benton Community Foundation invites the community to a grand-opening ceremony at 4 p.m. Thursday at its new building at 340 NW Fifth St., in Corvallis.

The organization’s president and chief executive officer, Chris Quaka, and the chair of the board of directors, Julie Manning, are scheduled to make remarks. Attendees will have the opportunity to tour the facility, which includes training spaces, community areas and offices for foundation work.

“Expanding our capacity to support and train nonprofits to help them be more successful is so exciting,” Diana Simpson Godfrey, board member and the chair of the foundation’s Building Task Force, said through a press release. “If our support makes nonprofits more successful in delivering their missions, that success will trickle out and impact the success of the clients and customers, and ultimately our entire community.”

The building will be the first purpose-specific space in Benton County where nonprofits can receive training and focus on collaborating, sharing expertise and addressing complex community issues.

The ceremony will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 4:30 p.m., open tours of the facility, networking opportunities with community leaders and stakeholders, light refreshments honoring the Gay Parfait that historically stood on the same site, and children’s activities and a photo booth.
