Individuals are identified in the log only if arrested on felony charges. Juveniles are not identified. People arrested or suspected of crimes are considered innocent until proven otherwise.

MONDAY, APRIL 14

• 2 a.m. — BCSO responded to the Alsea Falls campground for a report of suspicious circumstances. A group of young adults, ages 17-19, were camping in tents and reported hearing strange noises outside, believing that someone was walking around their tent while they were sleeping. The responding deputy reported that upon arrival, he did not see any individuals and nothing appeared to be disturbed at the campsite. The group decided to pack up their belongings and drive back to their homes in Portland.

THURSDAY, APRIL 17

• 12:45 p.m. — BCSO arrested a 34-year-old Lebanon man on a warrant for probation violation after responding to an Evergreen Road location to investigate a possible trespassing situation.

• 7:15 p.m. — BCSO arrested a 52-year-old Alsea man on a warrant out of Benton County Circuit Court and on a misdemeanor charge of unlawful possession of methamphetamine while responding to a report of a theft in progress at a location on Highway 34. The reported theft turned out to be an apparent misunderstanding involving construction materials that the suspects said had been advertised as free to take. However, that ad was several weeks old and those free materials had already been taken. The man arrested was later issued criminal citations in lieu of custody.

SATURDAY, APRIL 19

• 4:08 p.m. — BCSO arrested a 54-year-old Lebanon man, 56-year-old Lebanon woman and a 34-year-old Lebanon man on Class A misdemeanor charges of first-degree criminal trespass at a residence on Evergreen Road. The three individuals were allegedly found to be occupying a vacant home.

SUNDAY, APRIL 20

• 8:29 a.m. — BCSO responded to a report of trespassing on a Woods Creek Road property involving a neighbor’s cows.

TUESDAY, APRIL 22

• 10:26 a.m. — BCSO took the report of an incident that occurred on Highway 20 at Norton Creek Road involving the theft of diesel fuel that had been siphoned out of a Benton County road grader.
