TUESDAY, SEPT. 30

• 6:01 p.m. — BCSO responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Bellfountain Road and Airport Avenue. Both drivers, a 41-year-old Toledo woman, and a 20-year-old Albany woman, were reportedly not injured. One vehicle was towed from the scene.

• 7:30 p.m. — BCSO responded to a report of a crash through a phone app at the intersection of Highway 34 and Joseph Lane. Upon arrival, the responding deputy found a juvenile driver of a Toyota Tacoma, who reported that he was heading west on the highway when for an unknown reason, he went off the shoulder and into a ditch with the truck flipping over. There was no report on any possible injuries.

WEDNESDAY, OCT. 1

• 4:24 p.m. — BCSO responded to a crash at the intersection of Highway 20 and Highway 34 involving a Ram pickup that rear-ended a school bus while it was stopped at railroad tracks. There were no children on the bus and no injuries were reported. The bus was able to drive away from the scene while the pickup was towed. The Ram’s driver was cited for following too closely.

THURSDAY, OCT. 2

• 10:30 p.m. — BCSO responded to a request for a welfare check on Woods Creek Road involving a 61-year-old Corvallis man. According to an incident report, the man had purchased a 1967 Chevrolet pickup from an estate sale and while he was leaving, the brakes on the truck failed with the vehicle coming to a stop in a ditch at the end of a driveway. The driver entered into an agreement with a Philomath automotive shop to remove the vehicle from the ditch and purchase the vehicle from him. The deputy transported the driver to Corvallis.

FRIDAY, OCT. 3

• 11:30 p.m. — BCSO arrested a 38-year-old Philomath man on charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants, reckless driving and eluding law enforcement in a vehicle while he was being treated for injuries at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis. According to an incident report, the man was on a Harley Davidson motorcycle and observed speeding on Walnut Boulevard near Ninth Street in Corvallis. The motorcyclist did not pull over and BCSO was in pursuit until reaching an area where there was upcoming road construction. Philomath Police located the motorcyclist in Philomath and re-engaged in pursuit, which ended on Decker Road near Decker Ridge Road where the motorcycle crashed. The man reportedly suffered minor injuries and was transported to the hospital where he was subsequently arrested. BCSO issued citations in lieu of custody.

TUESDAY, OCT. 7

• 5:31 p.m. — BCSO responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 20 and Mustang Lane involving a Ford Fusion that rear-ended a Toyota Crown that was stopped on the highway waiting to make a lefthand turn. According to the incident report, a 19-year-old Eddyville man was headed west on the highway when he dropped his cellphone. The man said he picked it up off the floorboard and when he looked up, he could not stop in time to avoid crashing into the Toyota, which was being driven by an 82-year-old Philomath woman. Neither driver reported injuries. The Eddyville man was issued traffic citations for careless driving and driving uninsured.

WEDNESDAY, OCT. 8

• 1:48 a.m. — BCSO responded to a report from a woman at a residence on Marys River Estates Road that someone was going through her husband’s work truck and stealing tools. Deputies responded by flying a drone and deploying a K9 to search the area. Nobody was located, however, and the owner of the truck later stated that nothing was missing and he saw no signs that anyone had been rummaging through the vehicle.
