TUESDAY, MARCH 18

• 10:08 p.m. — BCSO responded to a report of a crash on Highway 20 east of Shrike Way. According to an incident report, a 20-year-old Corvallis man was headed east in a Nissan Maxima when the vehicle left the roadway for mechanical reasons. The vehicle crashed through a fence. No injuries were reported.

TUESDAY, MARCH 25

• 1:38 p.m. — BCSO responded to a report of second-degree criminal mischief in a hiking trail entrance parking lot off Cardwell Hill Drive near Philomath involving a vehicle that appeared to back into a parked car. The victim, a 37-year-old Philomath woman, reported minor damage to the driver’s side back door and rear quarter of her Subaru Legacy. The reporting deputy said that “based on height and appearance of the damage, it appeared to have possibly been done with a steel bumper, as no paint transfer was visible” and added that with damage to body sheet meals, “It is also possible, but unlikely, that the suspect driver did not realize they hit her car.” No witnesses to the incident could be found.

THURSDAY, MARCH 27

• 7:30 p.m. — BCSO took a report of burglary and criminal mischief at a Highway 34 location roughly 3 miles east and north of Alsea. A 65-year-old Albany woman reported that someone broke into a detached garage on the property sometime between March 9 and March 27 and stole $800 to $1,000 worth of tools and fishing tackle.

SATURDAY, MARCH 29

• 7:57 p.m. — BCSO responded to a report of a fight in the 1200 block of North 19th Street that led to the arrest of Chandler Ray Herndon, 18, of Corvallis, on felony charges of second-degree assault and aggravated harassment, and several misdemeanor charges that included disorderly conduct. According to a report on the incident, Herndon allegedly punched another male in the face, breaking his nose in two places. He reportedly resisted arrest and was booked into Benton County Jail.

MONDAY, MARCH 31

• 2:09 p.m. — BCSO pulled over a 43-year-old Salem man in a Hyundai Accent at Main Street and North 12th Street and discovered an Oregon State Parole Board warrant. The jail was not able to accept prisoners and instead, the man was given instructions by the parole board and released from custody at the scene.
