THURSDAY, JULY 16
• 2:34 p.m. — BCSO responded to the Willamette River near Irish Bend Park for a water rescue after a kayaker’s boat overturned and became pinned against a tree. According to an incident report, the woman was alive with her head above water and wearing a life jacket when deputies and a drone operator responded. Deputies also requested assistance from Harrisburg Fire, which was closer to the scene. The kayaker was rescued just before deputies arrived and fire personnel treated her for possible hypothermia and other injuries. She declined transport by ambulance. Deputies retrieved her kayak and belongings from the log/tree hazard and gave her and her boyfriend a ride to the entrance of the Peoria boat launch.
SATURDAY, AUG. 8
• 3:42 p.m. — BCSO reported locating an Oregon license plate along Peterson Road near Ervin Road. According to an incident report, a deputy later determined it had been reported stolen out of Lebanon. Arrangements were made for the registered owner, a 58-year-old Eugene woman, to pick up the plate in Corvallis.
