WEDNESDAY, JULY 28

• 8:43 p.m. — BCSO arrested Paul Allen Bullock, 78, of Philomath, on a felony charge of coercion and misdemeanor charges of harassment, third-degree sexual abuse, private indecency, endangering the welfare of a minor and driving under the influence of intoxicants (drugs). Bullock was transported to Benton County Jail. At an arraignment on July 29, not guilty pleas were entered. Thomas Hill was appointed by the court as counsel.

TUESDAY, JULY 29

• 10:29 a.m. — BCSO responded to a Cardwell Hill Drive residence near Philomath for a report of a stolen vehicle. The victim believed the vehicle had been stolen by an ex-boyfriend.

• 2:46 p.m. — BCSO responded to a report of identity theft involving a 45-year-old Philomath resident. The victim reported that she had been receiving bank statements but believed them to be a scam. After three years, she decided to look into the account, which someone had opened using her information. There was no activity on the account in a significant period of time and no monetary loss was reported. The victim was encouraged to check with credit bureaus to see if any other accounts had been opened in her name. 

THURSDAY, JULY 31

• 9:18 p.m. — BCSO responded to a report of two huskies running loose in the area of Highway 20 and Priest Road. The dogs were captured and transported to Heartland Humane Society in Corvallis.

FRIDAY, AUG. 1

• 1:21 a.m. — BCSO responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash on Highway 20 near Woods Creek Road. Minor injuries were reported. The deputy reported that an investigation determined that the driver, a 27-year-old Philomath man, had fallen asleep at the wheel.

SATURDAY, AUG. 2

• 12:27 a.m. — BCSO arrested a 42-year-old Toledo woman on multiple warrants for failure to appear in court during a traffic stop on Highway 20 near Blodgett. The woman was issued criminal citations in lieu of custody.

MONDAY, AUG. 4

• 11:06 a.m. — BCSO took a report of second-degree theft after being flagged down by a 59-year-old Corvallis man on Marys Peak Road. Camping and backpacking equipment valued at $800 were reported stolen. The deputy indicated that the information was to be forwarded to the U.S. Forest Service.
