MONDAY, DEC. 30
• 12:50 p.m. — Deputies arrested a 30-year-old Portland woman and a 22-year-old Sweet Home man on various charges during a traffic stop at Kings Valley Highway and Magee Road. Shelbi Marie Nunn faces a felony charge of unlawful possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence of intoxicants, reckless driving, recklessly endangering another person and unlawful possession of methamphetamine. The man, a passenger in the vehicle, was charged with misdemeanor counts of unlawful possession of fentanyl and methamphetamine and also arrested on active warrants.
TUESDAY, DEC. 31
• 5:37 p.m. — BCSO responded to a report of an abandoned vehicle at Tum Tum Road and Harris Road in Blodgett. Deputies learned that the vehicle, a 2015 Kia Rio, had been reported stolen out of Salem. The owner, a 23-year-old Salem woman, was contacted and she retrieved the car.
WEDNESDAY, JAN. 1
• 12:31 p.m. — BCSO responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash on Marys River Road at Blodgett. The driver, a 25-year-old Blodgett woman, was reportedly not injured. According to a report on the incident, the driver said she had crashed into a bank after swerving out of the way of an animal that ran across the road. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
TUESDAY, JAN. 7
• 8:29 p.m. — BCSO responded to a report of a crash at Highway 20 and North Creek Road involving a Hyundai Elantra that hit an elk. The driver, a 20-year-old Newport man, was reportedly not injured. The vehicle was towed from the scene and the driver was driven home by his father.
THURSDAY JAN. 9
• 10:13 a.m. — BCSO responded to a log truck crash on Highway 20 and Kings Valley Highway. According to a report on the incident, the driver, a 32-year-old Estacada man, took a corner too fast while turning onto Highway 20 from Kings Valley Highway. A trailer flipped over and spilled the logs. No injuries were reported. A guardrail was damaged.
• 11:10 a.m. — BCSO responded to a report of the theft of a Christmas card that had three $100 checks in it while en route from Philomath to Walla Walla, Washington. One of the checks was cashed online. The victim, a 64-year-old Philomath woman, later decided to not pursue criminal charges and requested a case number for her bank.
