SUNDAY, SEPT. 22

• 11:55 p.m. — BCSO arrested a 50-year-old Philomath man on misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants (alcohol .08 through .14) and reckless driving during a traffic stop on 19th Street near Industrial Way for failing to drive within a lane. The man was later issued criminal citations in lieu of custody and provided with courtesy transport to his residence.

WEDNESDAY, OCT. 2

• 4:19 p.m. — BCSO responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 20 near Priest Road west of Philomath that led to citations for one of the drivers. According to a report on the incident, a 22-year-old Corvallis man was heading east on Highway 20 and stopped at the intersection for Priest Road waiting for a vehicle in front of him to make a left turn. A 30-year-old Salem woman traveling east rear-ended the Corvallis man’s vehicle, telling BCSO that she “did not see him stopped because she was distracted by her cat.” The woman was cited for careless driving, driving while suspended and driving uninsured. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. One of the drivers was treated for a minor injury at the scene by Philomath Fire and Rescue.
