TUESDAY, SEPT. 22
• 5:45 a.m. — BCSO responded to a vehicle-versus-deer crash with no injuries on Highway 34 near Fircreek Lane. According to an incident report, the deputy found a vehicle on the eastbound shoulder that had struck a deer. The driver, a 57-year-old Alsea man, had arranged for the vehicle to be picked up. The deputy removed the deer from the roadway.
THURSDAY, SEPT. 24
• 1:32 p.m. — BCSO responded to a report of criminal trespass on Rosswood LLC property near Ervin Road. According to an incident report, trail camera photos were provided showing a vehicle and a man on the property on Sept. 7. The deputy identified the man, who had permission to hunt an adjoining property but used a network of roads through Rosswood property to reach the hunting grounds. The individual reporting the incident did not want to pursue charges but asked that the man be trespassed. He was told not to enter Rosswood property without permission.
SATURDAY, SEPT. 26
• 11:09 p.m. — BCSO responded to a vehicle-versus-deer crash with no injuries on Highway 20 in Blodgett. According to an incident report, a 52-year-old Seal Rock woman was westbound when a deer came down from the north side of the road and she was unable to avoid it. The vehicle was towed due to damage.
MONDAY, SEPT. 28
• 9:47 a.m. — BCSO responded to a report of a hit-and-run on Highway 20 near Shrike Way. According to an incident report, the deputy determined a 57-year-old Newport man drove carelessly, which caused a 30-year-old Toledo man to drive carelessly, resulting in minor damage to both vehicles. The Newport man was cited and released for careless driving. The Toledo man was cited and released for careless driving and a driving while suspended violation.
TUESDAY, SEPT. 29
• 11:35 a.m. — BCSO responded to a report of fraud at a Kings Valley Highway address. According to an incident report, a 38-year-old Monmouth woman said that on Sept. 16, unknown people activated her locked credit card and made a series of transactions through several accounts, resulting in $10,000 being taken from her linked Cash App account.
