A pull-over for a traffic violation evolved into a significant drug arrest on Wednesday morning in Corvallis, the Benton County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Katherine Eva Stark, 48, of Corvallis, faces charges for driving under the influence of intoxicants (drugs), reckless driving, felon in possession of a weapon and possession of methamphetamine. Stark was transported to Benton County Jail.

A BCSO deputy stopped Stark in a Chevrolet Silverado at 1:05 a.m. on Alta Vista Drive near Grant Avenue. An investigation revealed Stark to allegedly be in possession of approximately 130 grams of methamphetamine — an amount that is over 65 times higher than the violation threshold for meth possession in Oregon.
