Pioneer Connect is currently taking applications for its 2025 scholarship program and an annual youth tour to Washington, D.C., the Philomath-based business announced.
The scholarship program’s opportunities include:
- Pioneer Academic Scholarship — Designed for students beginning or continuing education in an undergraduate program at a two- or four-year university or technical vocational school. Application deadline: March 31.
- Pioneer Community College Scholarship — Awarded to students beginning or continuing their education at one of three local community colleges. Application deadline: March 31.
- Foundation for Rural Service Scholarship — A national scholarship program supporting students from rural communities pursuing their first year of higher education, whether at a college, university, or vocational-technical school. Scholarship values range from $500 to $7,000, based on various criteria. Application deadline: Feb. 14.
Pioneer Connect is also sponsoring two high school students to represent the cooperative at the
Foundation for Rural Service Youth Tour in Washington, D.C., scheduled for June 2-6. The chaperoned, five-day tour offers students an opportunity to learn about legislative and governmental processes, the importance of quality broadband connections and to visit historical sites and museums.
To be eligible, applicants must be a high school student (ages 15-17 at the time of the tour), have a primary residence within Pioneer’s service area and must be a member or an immediate relative of a participating member of Pioneer.
The deadline to submit an application for the youth tour is 4:30 p.m. March 5.
The company said applications for scholarships and the youth tour must be submitted online through Pioneer Connect’s website and incomplete applications will not be considered.
