The city of Philomath needs to fill openings on multiple committees come January and is currently accepting applications from its citizens.

The vacancies to be filled include two seats on the Planning Commission, five positions on the Budget Committee, three spots on the Park Advisory Board, three seats on the Inclusivity Committee and one position on the Tree Board.

Seven volunteers sit on the Planning Commission, which makes decisions related to zoning, land use and development. The group typically meets on the third Monday each month but will continue to meet on the first and third Mondays during the current development code and zoning map update. The positions are for four-year terms.

On the Budget Committee, there are seven citizen volunteers. City councilors and the mayor are also on the committee, which meets several times in the spring and receives budget updates throughout the year. The five positions are for three-year terms.

The Park Advisory Board is made up of seven citizen volunteers who provide recommendations on issues related to parks. The city is seeking applicants interested in assisting with coordination of the Music in the Park summer concert series. The board meets monthly and the terms are for three years.

The Inclusivity Committee is made up of three City Council members and six citizen volunteers. The committee develops programs and events promoting diversity, equity and inclusion in Philomath. The group meets monthly and the three available positions are for two years.

The Tree Board is made up of two volunteers and three council members who provide recommendations related to tree issues in the city. Terms run for three years.
