DAILY REPORTS

FRIDAY, OCT. 11

• 2:18 p.m. — Police took a report from a Philomath resident of damage to a vehicle’s front bumper while it had been parked at Philomath Middle School. The owner of a Toyota 4Runner said she believes an unknown person hit her vehicle while it was parked at the school lot on Sept. 26. The owner requested a case number to file a claim with her insurance company.

• 4:17 p.m. — Police took a report of theft from the 1800 block of Main Street. No other details were made available other than a report was taken and assigned a case number.

• 11:30 p.m. — Police arrested a 58-year-old Philomath man on a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants (alcohol under .08) during a traffic stop on Highway 20/34.

Other calls: Police responses included a report of menacing at 12:06 p.m. (South 19th Street), citizen assistance at 4:43 p.m. (Houser Lane), missing person at 6:40 p.m. (Applegate Street) and citizen assistance at 6:57 p.m. (North 20th Place). In addition, police assisted other agencies on calls at 2:11 a.m. (Gellatly Way) and 3:20 a.m. (Northwest 53rd Street, Corvallis). PPD reported one traffic stop.

SATURDAY, OCT. 12

• 4:20 p.m. — Police took a report from a local resident who reported that a small dog had been hit by a vehicle and killed on Main Street near the Dollar General store. The witness reported that a truck driving west on Main Street struck a small, tan-colored chihuahua and did not stop. Police retrieved and transported the dog to Heartland Humane Society to scan for a microchip.

• 10 p.m. — Police arrested a 38-year-old Eddyville woman on a misdemeanor charge of third-degree theft (lost/mislaid property) at a location on Southwest 35th Street in Corvallis.

Other calls: Police responses included a suspicious person at 11:59 a.m. (Chapel Drive), juvenile complaint at 2:01 p.m. (North 11th Street), suicidal person at 5:09 p.m., abandoned vehicle at 5:50 p.m. (Green Street) and a private property tow at 6:03 p.m. (North Eighth Street). PPD reported no traffic stops.

SUNDAY, OCT. 13

• No calls of significance were reported.

Other calls: Police responses included bike traffic at 12:20 a.m. (North 14th Street and Main Street), report of theft at 5:19 a.m. (North 14th Street), property found at 11:47 a.m. (Applegate Street) and a suspicious vehicle at 10:12 p.m. (South 11th Street). In addition, police assisted another agency on a call at 5:59 a.m. (Southwest 53rd Street, Corvallis). PPD reported 17 traffic stops.

MONDAY, OCT. 14

• No calls of significance were reported.

Other calls: Police responses included citizen assistance at 4:13 p.m. (Main Street), citizen contact at 9:23 p.m. (Main Street and South 21st Street) and a domestic disturbance at 10:31 p.m. (North 19th Street). PPD reported no traffic stops.

TUESDAY, OCT. 15

• Midnight — Police arrested a 41-year-old Philomath man on a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants (alcohol .20 or above) following a crash at the entrance of the Forest Meadows community on North 19th Street. See separate story.

• 6:38 p.m. — Police arrested Travis Martin Kent, 35, of Tangent, on a felony charge of eluding police for an incident that occurred Sept. 5 on Landmark Drive and Main Street and on a misdemeanor charge of reckless driving for an incident that occurred June 10 at Grange Hall Road and Fern Road. According to court records, he was also arrested by the Corvallis Police Department and faces two felony counts of strangulation constituting domestic violence and one misdemeanor count of fourth-degree assault.

Other calls: Police responses included a suicide attempt at 4:53 p.m., and a dog barking at 9:50 p.m. (Monroe Street). In addition, police assisted other agencies on calls at 8:10 p.m. (Southwest 53rd Street and Southwest Reservoir Avenue) and 8:45 p.m. (Southwest 53rd Street). PPD reported four traffic stops.

WEDNESDAY, OCT. 16

• No calls of significance were reported.

Other calls: Police responses included a dog at large at 10:51 a.m. (North 19th Street) and a welfare check at 11 a.m. (North Ninth Street). PPD reported four traffic stops.

THURSDAY, OCT. 17

• No calls of significance were reported.

Other calls: Police responses included a dog at large at 12:21 p.m. (Pioneer Street and North 12th Street), traffic hazard at 12:22 p.m. (Main Street) and an abandoned vehicle at 1:34 p.m. (Cedar Street). In addition, police assisted other agencies on calls at 1:50 p.m. (Applegate Street), 4:05 p.m. (Fern Road) and 6:12 p.m. (Highway 20 and Lilly Hill Road). PPD reported three traffic stops.

FOLLOW-UP REPORTS

MONDAY, SEPT. 30

• 10:03 p.m. — Police arrested a 47-year-old Albany man on two warrants for failure to appear on criminal citations out of Albany and Lebanon during a traffic stop on Southwest Philomath Boulevard, Corvallis. The man, who was also cited for driving while suspended, was cited and released.
