The works of Summit artist Vince Zettler are featured in the SHINE: Weavings and Other Media” exhibit through Nov. 2 at the Art in the Valley Gallery in Corvallis. An opening reception is scheduled for 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17 as part of the Corvallis Arts Evening Walk.

Named for the woven metallic threads that glimmer and shine, the exhibit features three recent large-scale weavings, as well as pencil drawings, collages and photo collages that incorporate Zettler’s handmade paper processed from locally collected cellulose plant materials.
Zettler has worked as a professional artist in Benton County for over 50 years. His involvement in the communities of Philomath, Corvallis and Summit have been pivotal in supporting local artists’ creative efforts through teaching, curating exhibits and envisioning and executing artistic events.
Zettler and his family live in Summit in the home he built decades ago.
The Art in the Valley Gallery, located at 209 SW Second St., is open Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
