Philomath Woman Passes—Mrs. Elizabeth Scarborough Buoy, a resident of Philomath for the past 25 years, died at the home in that little city Saturday following a complicated illness resulting from heart trouble. The funeral service was conducted from the brick chapel at Philomath at 2 o’clock this afternoon, Rev. Ringland officiating, and burial was in Newton cemetery. Mrs. Buoy was aged 72 years and is survived by several children and grandchildren who were present at the funeral today.

Editor’s note: A death certificate for Elizabeth Scarborough Buoy shows that she was born Nov. 16, 1845, in Ireland, the daughter of William Thompson and Cherry English. She was married to Harmon Buoy, who preceded her in death in 1903. Mrs. Buoy died Sept. 7, 1918, of heart disease, and was buried at Mount Union Cemetery on Sept. 9, 1918.
