Philomath’s Music in the Park series continues Sunday with Skip Jones and the Spirit of New Orleans, bringing a high-energy blend of rhythm and blues, classic rock and authentic New Orleans boogie-woogie to Philomath City Park.
The concert runs from 6-8 p.m. at the Randy Kugler Community Hall and gazebo area. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and enjoy a free evening of live music.
Skip Jones and the Spirit of New Orleans deliver a mix of R&B hits from the ’50s and ’60s alongside classic rock and pop organ favorites from the ’60s and ’70s, all infused with the soulful, party-driven spirit of New Orleans piano boogie-woogie.
Maxtivity will be on hand to provide free family-friendly activities and Mud Oven Pizza will be on-site selling pies. Alcohol is not permitted at the event.
Admission is free though donations are welcome to the Philomath Performing Arts Benefit Fund, which directly supports Philomath students.
