Good morning, Philomath.

An incident in the vicinity of the elementary school led to a ‘secure status’ situation for schools on Wednesday morning. All 11 Philomath High girls soccer starters earned all-conference honors. We have the latest BCSO Log and news briefs about a museum event on Friday and Rotary presentation on Tuesday. Plus, we have an update on the ICE facility situation at Newport and a new analysis that suggests forestland values are at risk as wildfire reshapes timber economics. — Brad Fuqua, Publisher/Editor
