Editor’s note: This report is based on information submitted by the Philomath Police Department. All calls for service may not be included. The status of incidents might change after further investigation. Locations are approximate and may not be included if it could identify victims of certain crimes of a sensitive nature (sexual abuse, stalking, etc.). Individuals are identified in the log only if arrested on felony charges. Calls that involve the Department of Human Services and minor children are not included. Juveniles are not identified. People arrested or suspected of crimes are considered innocent until proven otherwise.

FRIDAY, MAY 30

• 11:05 a.m. — Police responded to a report of an argument involving a couple on Industrial Way. An officer made contact with a woman walking on North 19th Street. It was determined that a crime had not occurred.

• 2:49 p.m. — Police responded to a disturbance in the 1000 block of Quail Glenn Drive that turned out to be an argument with one of the individuals getting evicted from a duplex. An agreement was reached for the person to come back the next day to finish moving.

• 11:57 p.m. — Police responded to a report of people trespassing on a neighbor’s property in the 100 block of North Seventh Street. No suspicious activity was observed by police.

Other calls: Police responses included citizen contact at 11:59 a.m. (Applegate Street), non-911 issue at 3:46 p.m. (Newton Place) and a 911 hang-up call at 6:04 p.m. (Newton Place). PPD reported six traffic stops.

SATURDAY, MAY 31

• 3:45 a.m. — Police responded to a request for a drug recognition expert in northwest Albany.

• 10:14 a.m. — Police responded to a report of criminal mischief in the 700 block of Deer Creek Way involving a flagpole that had been pulled up from the ground and thrown onto a resident’s yard.

• 4:11 p.m. — On a call involving a city ordinance violation in the 3000 block of Main Street, police arrested a 60-year-old Corvallis man on outstanding warrants. 

• 11:58 a.m. — Police assisted at the scene of an ATV crash in the 23200 block of Harris Road.

Other calls: Police responses included a dog at large at 12:03 p.m. (North 13th Street) and a found dog at 3:13 p.m. (Pioneer Street). PPD reported eight traffic stops.

SUNDAY, JUNE 1

• 7:42 p.m. — Police arrested a 31-year-old Corvallis woman on a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants (drugs) during a traffic stop at Applegate Street and South 11th Street. The woman was issued a citation in lieu of custody.

Other calls: Police responses included a report of a suspicious person at 2:42 a.m. (Llewellyn Road and Bellfountain Road), animal complaint at 9:25 a.m. (Pioneer Street) and a welfare check on an individual at 3:34 p.m. (Main Street). PPD reported no traffic stops.

MONDAY, JUNE 2

• No calls of significance were reported.

Other calls: Police responses included a report of a suspicious circumstance at 12:59 p.m. (North 15th Street). In addition, police assisted other agencies on calls at 6:08 a.m. (Highway 20 and Kings Valley Highway) and 11:19 p.m. (Southwest 53rd Street, Corvallis). PPD reported no traffic stops.

TUESDAY, JUNE 3

• No calls of significance were reported.

Other calls: Police responses included a mental health situation at 6:34 a.m. (South 17th Street), civil dispute at 8:52 a.m. (Applegate Street) and a welfare check at 7:21 p.m. (College Street). PPD reported two traffic stops.

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 4

• 9:38 p.m. — Police responded to a report of juveniles potentially causing damage in the 2000 block of Applegate Street. Police determined the situation to be a high school “senior prank.” Juveniles cleaned up items that would potentially cause damage.

Other calls: Police responses included a city ordinance violation at 2:20 p.m. (Main Street), welfare check at 6:27 p.m. (Applegate Street) and citizen contact at 8:07 p.m. (Applegate Street). In addition, police assisted another agency on a call at 7:14 p.m. and 7:21 p.m. (Highway 20 and Summit Highway, Blodgett). PPD reported seven traffic stops.

THURSDAY, JUNE 5

• 10:34 a.m. — Police responded to a two-vehicle crash in the 1600 block of Main Street. No injuries were reported and both vehicles drove away from the scene.

Other calls: Police responses included citizen contact at 12:58 a.m. (Main Street), extra patrol at 8:05 a.m. (Applegate Street and South 24th Street), report of possible child abuse at 9:17 a.m. and a dog at large at 5:50 p.m. (Applegate Street). PPD reported one traffic stop.
