The Philomath Classic Car Show distributed $2,600 to four local school programs out of proceeds raised from last year’s event, the organization’s committee announced.

Funds were donated to Philomath High School baseball-softball field upgrades, Philomath High’s robotics program, Philomath Middle School’s wood shop and Philomath High’s Drama Club.

The annual car show, which takes place on the Saturday during Philomath Frolic and Rodeo weekend, dates back to 1997 when it was founded as the Marys River Rod Run. This year’s event will take place on July 12 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at Philomath City Park.
