The Philomath High School girls basketball team came up big in the fourth quarter to pull away from Caldera, 47-33, in the semifinals of the Spartan Classic at Corvallis.
The Warriors held leads of 24-19 at halftime and 32-28 at the end of the third before outscoring their 5A opponent from Bend by 10 points over the final eight minutes.
Philomath (4-1) had a balanced scoring attack with junior Reagan Heiken leading the way with 13 points. Junior Annaleise Brown finished with 10 points, junior Jordyn Hood had eight and senior Khali Toombs had seven off the bench.
Senior Sammy Chandler scored 13 to lead the Wolfpack (4-3).
The Warriors will face Crater, another 5A school, in the tournament’s championship game at 3:30 p.m. Sunday. The Comets bring a 5-3 record into the game.
