Organizers are planning a No Kings rally in neighboring Corvallis on Saturday as part of a nationwide day of nonviolent action.
No Kings III in Corvallis, organized by Benton County residents affiliated with Indivisible BC, will span three locations — Oregon State University’s McNary Field at 11th and Monroe, Central Park and the Benton County Courthouse.
Participants are invited to gather at McNary Field at noon for opening remarks and a performance by the newly formed Corvallis Singing Resistance Choir. At 12:30 p.m., a sidewalk parade will proceed along Madison Avenue to Central Park, where speakers, music and children’s activities are planned. The parade will continue at 1:30 p.m. to the Benton County Courthouse for what organizers are calling a Dance for Democracy. Participants are also invited to line Fourth Street adjacent to the courthouse throughout the event.
Event organizer Karen Shell said participants can choose which portions of the event to attend.
“People are welcome to join in activities at any of the locations,” Shell said. “Plenty of people will be lined up along Fourth Street the whole time. Others may join in the sidewalk parade, and some may hang out at Central Park. Our goal is to provide multiple ways for people to participate.”
Shell said organizers expect a large turnout.
“We are expecting the largest protest turnout in the history of Corvallis,” she said. “People are fed up with the current administration’s violent, authoritarian actions. We’re bringing our community together to send a simple but powerful message: We don’t do kings or dictators in America.”
The No Kings movement describes itself as a mass, nonviolent effort to oppose what it characterizes as authoritarian overreach. Previous national events drew more than five million participants on June 14, 2025, and more than seven million people at 2,700-plus events across all 50 states on Oct. 18, 2025, according to the organization.
National partners for the March 28 day of action include the ACLU, American Federation of Teachers, SEIU, MoveOn, Indivisible and others.
