The Siuslaw National Forest is hiring seasonal employees for the upcoming recreation season, with positions available at duty stations in Corvallis, Reedsport, Florence, Waldport and Hebo.Forest Supervisor Rebecca Brooke said seasonal employees are essential to summer operations across the forest.

“Our seasonal employees are the backbone of summer operations — keeping our campgrounds, trails and recreation sites open, safe and welcoming for visitors,” Brooke said through a news release. “These positions offer meaningful work, hands-on experience, and the chance to support public lands close to home.”

The forest is recruiting for positions in recreation and visitor services, trail and campground maintenance, facilities maintenance, road engineering and active forest management. The forestry technician positions are separate from seasonal fire hiring currently underway.

Brooke said the positions can serve as entry points to natural resources careers or opportunities for those seeking outdoor summer work.

All positions will be advertised on USA Jobs around Feb. 20. The Forest Service encourages potential applicants to prepare their USA Jobs profile and resume ahead of time.

More information about available positions is available on the Siuslaw National Forest hiring webpage or by emailing r6_siuslaw_wwweb_front_desk@usda.gov.
