The Philomath High School boys tennis team swept all four singles matches to defeat Junction City, 4-3, on Thursday afternoon.
In singles, the Warriors were dominant. Freshman Cameron Barlow opened the day with a 6-2, 6-1 win over junior Julio Sanderson, senior Nate Houck defeated junior Jayden Reid by the same score, senior Lane Schell beat junior London O’Connor 6-0, 6-1 and freshman Andrew Sims handled junior Anthony Darnell 6-0, 6-2.
Junction City took all three of the official doubles matches that were played. Seniors Aden McNamara and Staton Barnes defeated freshman Lev Grose and sophomore Samuel Holroyd 6-1, 6-1, freshman Mayson Cullen and junior Max Mervine topped freshman Elijah Arthurs and junior Kayden Reynolds 6-1, 6-2 and sophomore Damian Escobedal-Bernal and freshman Spencer Murray edged freshman Jovi Tavano and sophomore Mika Laukkanen-Raskauskas 6-7 (3), 6-1, 6-1.
Philomath hosts Marist Catholic at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
