A celebration of life gathering in memory of Barbara Lucille Melland will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, at College United Methodist Church in Philomath.
Melland, a longtime Philomath resident, died Dec. 3, 2025, at age 87.

Obituary: Philomath resident Barbara Lucille Melland, 87, passed away Dec. 3, 2025. A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
Born in Watsonville, California, in 1938, Melland moved to Oregon where she met her husband, Jerry. The couple married on Aug. 17, 1957.
Melland worked as a head baker for the Corvallis School District for many years after her children entered school.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Jerry; four daughters, Cheri Anderson, Kathy Holderman, Sue Lemmon and Vicki Hanson; eight grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
The public is invited to attend the service. The church is located at 1123 Main St.
