The Philomath Rotary Club invites community members to attend its meeting at noon Tuesday, Jan. 20 at Peace Lutheran Church for a presentation on Oregon State University’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service.

The event, scheduled for 8 a.m.-4 p.m. on Jan. 31 at OSU’s Memorial Union in the Horizon Room, commemorates King’s “life and legacy of serving others and his vision for strong, beloved communities,” according to a description on the university’s website. “Our projects engage volunteers in meaningfully strengthening our local community and caring for our neighbors.”

Bella Larson and Jack Cook, program specialists, will give the presentation to talk about the event along with other opportunities for community engagement with OSU programming.

The meeting will also include the Philomath Middle School Student of the Month award presentation.

Lunch will be provided. Those planning to attend should RSVP to rotaryfred@hotmail.com to help organizers plan meal counts.
