Philomath High’s wrestling teams picked up four individual champions and the boys placed third in the team standings Friday while hosting the Warrior Classic.
Seniors Porter Compton, Lake Mulberry and Derick Kohn all had first-place finishes for the boys. Freshman Makinzey Harrington was an individual champion in the girls’ portion of the tournament.

Compton won at 165 pounds with a pin and a major decision before claiming the championship with a sudden victory decision over Molalla’s Tyler Kenton, 10-7. Mulberry captured first at 190, capping his day with a 10-1 major decision over Tillamook’s Devyn McDonald in the finals. Kohn’s 3-0 performance at 215 included a 7-4 decision over Willamette’s Jose Rivera 7-4 in the championship match.

Senior Liam Bennett added a runner-up finish at 175 pounds, going 2-1 with two pins before falling in the finals to Crescent Valley’s Sean Ryan. Senior Lukas Hernandez also placed second at 144 pounds with a 2-1 record that included two pins before losing by major decision to Tillamook’s Chance Fletcher in the championship.
Freshman Kellen Carlson (106) and junior Odin Compton (138) both took fourth place for the Warriors. Carlson went 1-2 after opening with a technical fall, while Compton finished 2-2 with a technical fall and a pin among his victories. Sophomore Rowan Jessen placed sixth at 165 pounds with a 2-3 record.

Freshman Max Grapoli (2-2), junior Rustan Woosley (1-2) and senior Dillion Osborns (1-2) also competed for Philomath. Senior Riley Barrett did not compete due to injury.
In the team standings, the Warriors finished third with 164.5 points behind champion Tillamook (325) and runner-up Molalla (185.5).

On the girls side, Harrington continued her strong debut season. Wrestling at 140 pounds, Harrington won both of her matches with a pin and a technical fall to claim first place.
Freshman Carsyn Pettit-Juvenal placed second at 120 pounds with a 1-1 record that included a pin before falling in the finals to Creswell’s Paige Ledgerwood.

Freshman Chloe Dustman (0-2, 105), junior Alexis Pettit (1-2, 110), freshman Rielly Ellingsen (0-2, 125) and sophomore Sarah Robertson (2-1, 130) also wrestled for the Warriors. Robertson pinned her first two opponents and then later in a consolation match was forced to withdraw with a medical forfeit.
Philomath’s girls finished eighth in the team standings with 43.5 points. Tillamook won the tournament with 112 points.
The boys and girls teams will both participate next in the Grants Pass Winter Kickoff on Dec. 19-20.
