This story was updated with the start time of Saturday's match vs. Madras (3 p.m.).

Philomath High School’s volleyball team earned the No. 5 seed for the Class 4A playoffs and will play at home at 3 p.m. Saturday against 12th-seeded Madras.

The final regular-season matches in 4A took place Tuesday night and the Oregon School Activities Association released the list of qualifiers and first-round matchups.

The Warriors enter the postseason with a 15-6 record with hopes of advancing to the state tournament for the first time since 2021.

Philomath finished second behind Cascade in the Oregon West Conference with an 8-2 record.

Cascade was seeded fourth and will play at home against 13th-seeded St. Helens. The Warriors and Cougars are on the same side of the bracket and if both win, they would play in the quarterfinals.

A third team from the conference, Stayton, also qualified as an at-large team. The Eagles will play at seventh-seeded The Dalles.

Madras comes into the playoffs with an 11-12 overall record but finished strong by winning four of its last five matches. The White Buffaloes finished runner-up in the Tri-Valley Conference behind The Dalles.

Madras faced Philomath a month ago in a tournament in Junction City. The Warriors rolled to a 25-9, 25-10 victory in that matchup.

Marist Catholic (21-1), Sky-Em League champion, is the No. 1 seed.
