The Philomath School District Policy Committee will meet at 1:15 p.m. Thursday at the district office to review 16 policies covering topics from instructional materials to student safety.
Among the policies on the agenda are several related to instructional materials, including procedures for reconsidering core and supplemental instructional materials. The committee will also review a policy on the independent adoption of core instructional materials.
Other items include policies on advisory committees to the board, a centralized safety committee, student conduct on school buses, district curriculum, library materials in schools or classrooms, immunization and concussion protocols for school sports participation, directory information and denial of virtual public charter school student enrollment.
The committee will also consider deleting a policy related to immunization, physical examination, and vision and dental screenings.
The district office is located at 1620 Applegate St. The meeting is also scheduled to be streamed on the school district’s YouTube channel. Public participation will not be allowed during the meeting. Questions may be directed to the district office at 541-929-3169.
