Philomath’s Public Works crew will begin routine water system flushing throughout the city on Monday with work expected to continue through May 1.

The three-week maintenance effort is designed to ensure water quality and keep the city’s water system operating efficiently.

Residents may notice some temporary effects during the flushing period, including slight discoloration of tap water and minor pressure changes. Public Works crews will also be visible working in neighborhoods throughout the city.

Anyone who experiences discolored water is advised to run the cold tap for a few minutes until it clears.

For more information, residents may contact the Public Works office at 541-929-3579.
