Editor’s note: This report is based on information submitted by the Philomath Police Department. All calls for service may not be included. The status of incidents might change after further investigation. Locations are approximate and may not be included if it could identify victims of certain crimes of a sensitive nature (sexual abuse, stalking, etc.). Individuals are identified in the log only if arrested on felony charges. Calls that involve the Department of Human Services and minor children are not included. Juveniles are not identified. People arrested or suspected of crimes are considered innocent until proven otherwise.

FRIDAY, MARCH 20

• No calls of significance were reported.

Other calls: Police responses included a found dog at 11:37 a.m. (North 12th Street) and a flare gun turned in for destruction at 12:30 p.m. (Philomath Police Station). PPD reported four traffic stops.

SATURDAY, MARCH 21

• 10:49 a.m. — Police responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of South 19th Street and Main Street. Minor injuries were reported and both vehicles were towed. A driver’s failure to stop at a stop sign was cited by police as the cause.

• 11:59 p.m. — Police responded to a report of juveniles knocking on house windows on South 18th Street. The juveniles were located, transported to their residence and warned about knocking and curfew violation.

Other calls: Police responses included citizen assistance with lost property (Main Street) and a welfare check at 2:58 p.m. (Southwest Philomath Boulevard and Southwest 53rd Street, Corvallis). PPD reported two traffic stops.

SUNDAY, MARCH 22

• 7:39 p.m. — Police responded to a report of a missing juvenile from the area of North Eighth Street and Main Street. The juvenile was located.

• 8:55 p.m. — Police observed a flashbang-style firework (loud bang, bright flash of light) in the area of South 13th Street and College Street. The officer attempted to locate the source and spoke with several individuals but was unable to locate where it had been set off.

Other calls: Police assisted another agency on a call at 4:59 p.m. (Highway 20/34). PPD reported seven traffic stops.

MONDAY, MARCH 23

• No calls of significance were reported.

Other calls: Police responses included a juvenile complaint at 2:08 p.m. (Paul J. Cochran Veterans Memorial Park) and citizen contact at 10:34 p.m. (Main Street). In addition, police assisted another agency on a call at 4:57 p.m. (South 18th Street). PPD reported one traffic stop.

TUESDAY, MARCH 24

• No calls of significance were reported.

Other calls: Police responses included citizen contact at 12:19 p.m. (North Seventh Street and Main Street). In addition, police assisted another agency at 10:35 a.m. (North Ninth Street). PPD reported three traffic stops.

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 25

• 10:26 a.m. — Police arrested a 44-year-old Philomath man at Applegate Street and South 17th Street on a warrant out of Albany for failure to appear in court. The man was cited and released.

• 3:39 p.m. — Police responded to a report of shoplifting from Dollar General involving a man who had stolen two 24-ounce cans of alcohol.

• 4:21 p.m. — Police responded to a report of a stolen package in the 200 block of Jade Street. The package had been opened and its contents taken; it also contained sensitive information.

• 4:53 p.m. — Police arrested a 67-year-old Crooked River Ranch woman on a misdemeanor charges of reckless endangerment during a traffic stop in the 1800 block of Main Street. The woman was cited and released.

Other calls: Police responses included a city ordinance violation at 8:34 a.m. (Applegate Street), city ordinance violation at 8:48 a.m. (Applegate Street) and a traffic hazard at 5:05 p.m. (Main Street and South 26th Street). PPD reported four traffic stops.

THURSDAY, MARCH 26

• No calls of significance were reported.

Other calls: Police responses included citizen contact at 10:26 a.m. (North 15th Street) and a welfare check at 1:25 p.m. (South 26th Street). PPD reported eight traffic stops.
