Editor’s note: This report is based on information submitted by the Philomath Police Department. All calls for service may not be included. The status of incidents might change after further investigation. Locations are approximate and may not be included if it could identify victims of certain crimes of a sensitive nature (sexual abuse, stalking, etc.). Individuals are identified in the log only if arrested on felony charges. Calls that involve the Department of Human Services and minor children are not included. Juveniles are not identified. People arrested or suspected of crimes are considered innocent until proven otherwise.

FRIDAY, DEC. 5

• 11:12 a.m. — Police arrested a 31-year-old Eugene woman on a warrant for failure to appear in court on a criminal citation after she turned herself in at the police station. The woman was cited in lieu of custody.

Other calls: Police responses included a suspicious person at 2:17 p.m. (Philomath Public Works), vehicle blocking traffic at 4:26 p.m. (Main Street), parking complaint at 7:56 p.m. (Applegate Street) and a juvenile issue at 10:18 p.m. (Newton Street). In addition, police assisted another agency on a call at 4:31 a.m. (Southwest Meadow Flower Drive, Corvallis). PPD reported seven traffic stops.

SATURDAY, DEC. 6

• 9:34 a.m. — Police responded to a report of shoplifting in the 100 block of North 20th Street involving a male who appeared to have changed clothing in a changing room and walked out. The store employee was not able to identify what items had been taken.

• 1:54 p.m. — Police took a report from an individual who reported a sex offense that had occurred when he was a juvenile.

• 7:28 p.m. — Police responded to a report of trespassing involving a man who was refusing to leave a business after requesting a refund.

• 7:32 p.m. — Police responded to the 600 block of Main Street for a report of fraud involving an individual attempting to use counterfeit $100 bills. Officers investigated and determined that the bills in question showed no signs of being counterfeit. 

Other calls: Police responses included an animal complaint at 12:25 a.m. (Highway 34 and Stovall Lane), argument at 1:05 a.m. (Main Street) and a welfare check at 5:12 p.m. (Pioneer Street). PPD reported three traffic stops.

SUNDAY, DEC. 7

• No calls of significance were reported.

Other calls: Police assisted another agency on a call at 2:54 p.m. (Northwest Fifth Street, Corvallis). PPD reported two traffic stops.

MONDAY, DEC. 8

• No calls of significance were reported.

Other calls: Police responses included a request for a welfare check at 2:52 p.m. (Main Street) and citizen assistance at 5:09 p.m. (Pioneer Street and North 11th Street). In addition, police assisted another agency on a call at 2:38 p.m. (College Street). PPD reported no traffic stops.

TUESDAY, DEC. 9

• No calls of significance were reported.

Other calls: Police responses included a report of violation of a restraining order at 11:13 a.m. (South 17th Street), welfare check at 3:25 p.m. (Newton Street) and a welfare check at 10:48 p.m. (Avondale Place). PPD reported two traffic stops.

WEDNESDAY, DEC. 10

• 2:59 p.m. — Police responded to a report from a resident on Adelaide Drive that someone had gone onto their property and messed with Christmas decorations. The individual did not want to file a police report but only wanted to know if other such calls had come in.

• 3:15 p.m. — Police responded to a report of a crash in the 100 block of North 14th Street involving a vehicle making a turn in front of another vehicle. No injuries were reported.

• 10:31 p.m. — Police assisted the Benton County Sheriff’s Office at the scene of a crash at Fern Road and Powderhouse Road involving a car that had gone off the road and was unable to get out of a ditch. No damages to the car or property were seen and no injuries were reported.

Other calls: Police responses included a student incident at 8:34 a.m. (Philomath Middle School), dog at large at 12:43 p.m. (Houser Lane), civil dispute over property lines at 1:08 p.m. (Main Street), citizen assistance at 1:36 p.m. (address not reported) and a welfare check at 2:55 p.m. (Applegate Street). In addition, police completed a found property report on a cellphone that had been turned in the previous day. PPD reported six traffic stops.

THURSDAY, DEC. 11

• 6:13 p.m. — Police responded to a disorderly conduct report from a business on Main Street involving a man who burst in, started yelling obscenities and threatened patrons, ultimately kicking one of them. The man fled the scene prior to the arrival of police.

Other calls: Police responses included a report of a barking dog at 8:23 p.m. (South 13th Street). PPD reported three traffic stops.
