Editor’s note: This report is based on information submitted by the Philomath Police Department. All calls for service may not be included. The status of incidents might change after further investigation. Locations are approximate and may not be included if it could identify victims of certain crimes of a sensitive nature (sexual abuse, stalking, etc.). Individuals are identified in the log only if arrested on felony charges. Calls that involve the Department of Human Services and minor children are not included. Juveniles are not identified. People arrested or suspected of crimes are considered innocent until proven otherwise.

FRIDAY, FEB. 27

• 11:36 p.m. — Police responded to a report of threats that had occurred involving an adult male and female in the 600 block of College Street. Police determined that no crime had occurred.

Other calls: Police responses included a report of a man urinating in public at 8:25 a.m. (Main Street), possible suicidal subject at 6:26 p.m. and a non-911 issue at 10:39 p.m. (College Street). In addition, police provided drug recognition expert services to another agency at 12:21 a.m. and 2:48 a.m. (Pacific Boulevard Southwest, Albany). PPD reported three traffic stops.

SATURDAY, FEB. 28

• No calls of significance were reported.

Other calls: Police responses included a mental health issue at 6:08 p.m. (Pioneer Street). PPD reported seven traffic stops.

SUNDAY, MARCH 1

• 2:44 a.m. — Police responded to a report of a disturbance involving two people in adjoining apartments in the 100 block of North 15th Street. Both individuals agreed that the issue had been resolved. No charges were filed.

Other calls: PPD reported 11 traffic stops.

MONDAY, MARCH 2

• 10:33 a.m. — Police responded to a report of theft in the 500 block of South 17th Street. A “no parking” sign was reported stolen.

• 1:34 p.m. — Police responded to a report of a crash in the 1200 block of North 19th Street involving a wheel that had come off a bicycle and sent the rider “end over end.” Philomath Fire and Rescue responded and provided first aid to the individual.

• 2:18 p.m. — Police found an injured cat in the 800 block of North 12th Street and transported it to Heartland Humane Society in Corvallis.

• 7:59 p.m. — Police responded to a report of a deer that had been hit by a vehicle and was in the road at Chapel Drive and Willowbrook Drive. The deer was deceased and moved off the roadway.

Other calls: Police responses included a parking complaint at 10:25 a.m. (North 15th Street). PPD reported no traffic stops.

TUESDAY, MARCH 3

• 6:58 a.m. — Police trespassed an adult male and female from a business in the 1700 block of Main Street.

Other calls: Police responses included bicycle traffic at 12:35 a.m. (Main Street and Newton Street). PPD reported no traffic stops.

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 4

• 11:21 a.m. — Police responded to the scene of what had been reported as a possible structure fire in the 100 block of North Seventh Street. No smoke or flames were seen and Philomath Fire and Rescue reported that the situation involved a faulty dryer in the residence’s laundry room.

• 3:50 p.m. — Police responded to a suspicious circumstance at Philomath High School involving a threat that had been overheard among students. The school superintendent later reported that a security sweep of the school had been completed as a preventative measure and that no threat existed.

Other calls: Police responses included misuse of the 911 system at 1:09 a.m. (Applegate Street). PPD reported two traffic stops.

THURSDAY, MARCH 5

• No calls of significance were reported.

Other calls: Police responses included citizen contact at 9:44 a.m. (Applegate Street), citizen contact at 11:25 a.m. (Pioneer Street), parking complaint at 1:54 p.m. (North 14th Street), abandoned vehicle at 4 p.m. (James Street) and a report of a lost dog at 5:23 p.m. (College Street). PPD reported five traffic stops.
