The city of Philomath invites residents to the Philomath Community Vision 2050 Kickoff Celebration from 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Philomath Scout Lodge.
The event marks the public launch of a community visioning process aimed at creating a comprehensive 25-year plan for Philomath’s future growth and development.
City Manager Chris Workman, who announced the initiative in December, said he would like to see the development of a long-term economic development plan through community input. The city is working with a consulting firm to facilitate the 10-month process.
The kickoff celebration will feature live music, desserts, “dirty sodas,” games and local business and information tables.
The event is free and open to all community members.
The visioning process will include an opportunity to participate in a community survey and stakeholder meetings will focus on shaping the plan.
The Philomath Scout Lodge is located at 660 Clemens Mill Road.
