The Philomath-based business Beaver Auto Sales will host a car wash fundraiser from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, owner Joe Carrillo announced. The car wash, organized by the Iglesia Emanuel Church youth group, will help a recent heart transplant patient with the enormous medical costs he is facing.

Carrillo, who opened Beaver Auto Sales last year, stepped in to provide a site for the car wash at 1811 Main St. The first 50 people will have a choice of a free hamburger or hot dog.

For the car wash, there will be no set charge and the youth group will take donations of any amount — whatever folks can give, Carrillo said.

Proceeds will go to Gregorio Hernández, who received a new heart on June 27. A daughter provides information about her father’s situation on a GoFundMe page that was created to help him with expenses.
