FRIDAY, DEC. 19

• 11:45 p.m. — Troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 5 about 2 miles south of Sunny Valley in Josephine County that took the life of Jimmy Warren Stanley, 82, of Dunsmuir, California. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Stanley was driving a northbound GMC Jimmy when it veered off the roadway for an unknown reason onto the gravel shoulder. The vehicle rolled over, and Stanley was ejected from the vehicle. Stanley was pronounced deceased at the scene.

SUNDAY, DEC. 21

• 9:55 a.m. — Troopers responded to a three-vehicle crash on Highway 97 about 3 miles north of Gilchrist in Klamath County that took the life of Kristara Leah Lopez, 47, of Coos Bay. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that a southbound Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 59-year-old Bend woman crossed into the northbound lane after the driver lost control due to icy roadway conditions. The Silverado collided head-on with Lopez’s northbound Toyota Tacoma and then struck a blue Dodge Ram towing a small trailer driven by a 68-year-old Oakridge man. Lopez was pronounced deceased at the scene. A passenger in the Toyota, a 59-year-old Coos Bay man, was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries. The Silverado’s driver was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries. The Dodge’s driver and a 59-year-old Oakridge woman passenger were transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.

MONDAY, DEC. 22

• 5:19 p.m. — Troopers responded to a vehicle-pedestrian crash on Highway 42 near Myrtle Point that took the life of Faith Scarlet Rose Andersen, 29, of Myrtle Point. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that an eastbound Ford Ranger driven by a 45-year-old Coos Bay woman struck Andersen, who was standing in the travel lane for an unknown reason. Andersen was pronounced deceased at the scene.
