Guy Richard Griffin, of Albany, Oregon, peacefully passed away Feb. 14, 2026, after battling several medical issues for many years. He was 73.
Guy was born to John Franklin Griffin and Helen Lucille (Winefeldt) Griffin Feb. 1, 1953, in San Diego, California. He was the fifth of eight children; he grew up in Philomath and graduated Philomath High School in 1972. Guy enjoyed family, animals, cars, sports, travel, and time on the farm.
Guy was preceded in death by his parents, John and Helen Griffin; sisters, Helen Young and Michelle Griebel; brother, Mark Griffin; and son, Richard Lee Griffin.
Guy was survived by brothers, John Griffin and Jim Griffin; sisters, Rene Todd and Carl Ann Skags; daughter, Carla Kay Gottschalk; wife, Dani McLaren Griffin; and stepchildren Shane Beaver, Heather Morrison, Cassidy Beaver, Cody Crist and Samantha Crist ; and a total of 14 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and in-laws.
At Guy’s request, a celebration of life barbecue will be held in the late spring.
