Good morning, Philomath.

Back when I was on vacation, the FRIEND Firefighter STEM Camp took place here in Philomath with training activities for youth participants. Eric Niemann shot photos for me and this week I was able to catch up with organizer David Barron about how things went. Last night at the School Board meeting, Tom Klipfel and Erin McMullen were voted on for another year as chair and vice chair, respectively. The Benton County Sheriff’s Office Citizens’ Academy is signing people up for its fall event. Out of our partner content this morning, we have a story by Oregon Capital Chronicle on what Oregon added to the time capsules for America’s 250th birthday. Have a great weekend coming up. I’m working on preview stories for the Philomath Classic Car Show (July 11) and Philomath Frolic and Rodeo (July 9-11). — Brad Fuqua, Publisher/Editor
