MRS. M. ABBEY
DIES IN PORTLAND
BE BURIED HERE
———

Mrs. Miranda Abbey, a former well known Corvallis lady, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lee Beach, 814 Sandy Boulevard, Portland, Monday evening, January 22, aged 75 years. Mrs. Abbey was the widow of the late “Kit” Abbey, and, with her family, resided in Corvallis a number of years ago, being widely known among the older settlers of this city and county. Since the death of her husband, who passed away in Corvallis, she has resided with her daughter, Mrs. Beach, in Portland. Funeral services will be held in the metropolis tomorrow afternoon at an early hour. Following the services the body, accompanied by members of the family, will be brought to Corvallis on the evening train, arriving here at 8:15, and will be taken to the Wilkins Undertaking Parlors, where old friends may view the remains from 8 to 10 o’clock Thursday morning. The body will then be taken to the Newton cemetery for interment beside the grave of the late Mr. Abbey.

Deceased is survived by two children — Mrs. Lee Beach, of Portland, and Richard A. Abbey, a son residing at Elk City, who passed through Corvallis this morning on his way to Portland — both of whom were raised in Corvallis.

Mrs. Abbey was a splendid type of womanhood, numbered her friends by her acquaintances, and was dearly beloved by many in this city, who will mourn with the children the demise of a noble mother and friend.
