SOME NOTES
PHILOMATH
PHILOMATH
———
Mrs. Charles Uren died last night at 5 p.m. Her husband and two of her children by a former marriage and their families and some five grandchildren of her deceased daughter survive her.
She was a practical, persistent Christian since early maidenhood. She was born in Ohio and her maiden name was Leonard. Her first marriage was about 60 years ago, to M. Eakin, to whom were born four children, two of these dying in early life. Left a widow in 1888 and in 1890 married Chas. Uren. Both were members of the M.E. church but united with the Radical U.B.’s here.
Editor’s note: The actual first name of Mrs. Uren is presumed to be Lorinda based on what was etched into her grave marker but in a newspaper obituary, she was identified as Carrie Uren. Her death certificate identifies her as Mrs. Uren with a blank space where the first name was never entered. The death certificate also verifies her birthday as April 11, 1834 and her death as Jan. 15, 1911, which made her age 76 when she passed away (not 77 as indicated in one of the obituaries).
