Pneumonia Proves Fatal to Pa-
tient Who had Been Failing
For Two Years

Mrs. Jessie Serapta Russ, wife of J.B. Russ, 726 north Thirteenth street, died at 2:40 this morning. Her death resulted after a brief illness from pneumonia, following other trouble that had extended over a period of two years.

Mrs. Russ, who was aged 70 years, was born June 14, 1858, in Washington county, Indiana. She was married to Mr. Russ near Minneapolis, 52 years ago and the couple resided in that vicinity continuously until coming to Corvallis in 1920.

Surviving with the husband are two daughters, Mrs. George Schrepel of Mt. View and Mrs. P.S. Hamilton of Arvada, Col., and one son, J.S. Russ of Minneapolis. There are also two sisters, Mrs. Effie Massingham, Corvallis, and Mrs. Alice Ames, Minneapolis, and one brother, William Carr of Zillah, Wash.

Mrs. Russ had been a member of the church since girlhood and had long been active in religious and community enterprises. The funeral will be from the Keeney funeral home Monday at 2 o’clock, with Dr. E.W. Warrington officiating. Interment will be in Newton cemetery.
