Burial at Newton Cemetery — Jerry Nunan, a reporter on the Oregonian, Portland, a number of years, later with the Telegram, and previously owner and editor of the Grants Pass Courier, died yesterday at the family home in Portland, at the age of 82. He had been ill a year or more. The remains are to be brought to Corvallis for interment in Newton cemetery. Mr. Nunan resided in Corvallis a short time in earlier years. He married Cinnie Allen of a pioneer Benton county family, a sister of Miss Nettie Spencer of Corvallis. He was a California pioneer, having come to San Francisco with his father in 1850 from Sydney, Australia, the city of his birth. The elder Mr. Nunan established a grocery store in San Francisco. Mr. Nunan is survived by a son, Paul Allen Nunan of Laguna Beach, Cal., and a daughter, Sinita Nunan, of Portland.

To Bring Remains Here — The remains of Jerry Nunan of Portland are to be brought to Corvallis Saturday for interment in Mt. Union cemetery, the service at the grave to be at 1 o’clock. Prior to the departure from Portland a service will be held tomorrow afternoon at 4 o’clock from Finley’s chapel. Mr. Nunan, at one time a resident of Corvallis, will be buried beside the grave of his wife. Mrs. Nunan was Miss Cinnie Allen of a pioneer Benton county family.

Relatives Here for Service — Relatives of the late Jerry Nunan of Portland, who came here Saturday to attend the funeral, remained in Corvallis to greet old friends. In the party were Miss Cinita Nunan of Portland, daughter of the late Mr. Nunan; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Nunan of Long Beach, Cal., son and daughter-in-law; Rev. and Mrs. J.R. Parker, Philomath; Mark Bump, Forest Grove, O.S.C. graduate and former Corvallis resident; Mrs. Winona Caves, Newport; Mr. and Mrs. Elias Penland and H.C. Davis, Halsey. At the request of the late Mr. Nunan, the daughter, Miss Cinita Nunan, read the burial service, Rev. Parker of Philomath giving the prayer. The service at the grave in Mt. Union cemetery was private. Mr. Nunan’s remains were laid to rest beside the grave of his wife Mrs. Cinnie Allen Nunan, member of a pioneer Benton county family.
