Dies This Morning — Clarence Chapman, son of Mr. and Mrs. B.J. Chapman of Beulah, died this morning at the home of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas A. Keane, 329 north Fourth street. Mr. Chapman, who was in his late twenties, had been ill from complicated trouble that had extended over several weeks. The funeral will be held from the Evangelical church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Rev. Nichols, of the United Brethren church of Philomath will officiate at the service and interment will be in the Newton cemetery. A little son, the parents and grandparents survive Mr. Chapman and there are other relatives in this vicinity.

Editor’s note: Mr. Chapman’s death certificate shows that he was born March 8, 1898, in Kansas to B.J. Chapman and Eva Keane. His occupation was shown as a farmer. The cause of death was listed as a type of leukemia that he had been diagnosed with four months earlier.
