Community members are invited to join a volunteer effort to help maintain and preserve Mount Union Cemetery, with the first workday set for Saturday, April 11.

The cemetery will host volunteer days on the second Saturday of each month from now through October, running from 9 a.m. to noon. Tasks will include cleaning headstones, picking up debris and trimming grass.

As a thank-you to those who show up, organizers will provide free coffee, pastries and water.

Organizers hope the monthly effort will bring the community together while keeping the historic landmark looking its best. More information is available at mtunioncemetery.com.
