To the Editor:

Our family is seeking help from the community. Our beloved dog, Blue, a completely blind and gentle soul, has been missing since March 10. He was last seen on Kings Valley Highway, between Beazell and Alexander Road, and we believe he is likely scared and hiding somewhere in the dense vegetation nearby.

Every passing day our worry grows into desperation. The thought of Blue, unable to see, navigating the unfamiliar and dangerous terrain is a constant heartbreak for us. He is not just a pet; he is a member of our family, and his absence has left a gaping hole in our lives.

We are offering a reward for his safe return, no questions asked.

We are asking our Philomath neighbors for their help. We are hoping that someone with experience in the outdoors — perhaps skilled trackers, or those with thermal drones or trained search-and-rescue (SAR) or K-9 SAR  — might be willing to lend their expertise. The local landscape that we have always loved has become a source of fear, imagining him lost and tangled in the brambles.

Volunteers of any skill level would be a valuable asset.

If you have any information, or if you are willing to help us in our search, please contact us at 541-621-8730 or through our Facebook page (facebook.com/bringbluehome).

We are devastated and desperate to bring Blue home safely. Any assistance, no matter how small, would be a beacon of hope for our family.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
