Arbor Day Tree Planting Ceremony

In anticipation for Arbor Day, we invite the community to join us on April 3rd, at the Philomath Library, as we celebrate the season of trees with a special planting ceremony.

In late 2025, testing confirmed that our beloved American Elm that once stood in front of the Philomath Community Library — the first tree nominated under our Heritage Tree Program — was affected by Dutch Elm Disease. In 2026, we said goodbye to that beautiful tree, a loss felt by many in the community. This Arbor Day, we look ahead with hope as we plant a Bur Oak tree in it’s place and carrying our community’s canopy forward.

Join us for a simple ceremony as we honor the past and look forward to the future.
