Election-related letter to the editor guidelines

The Philomath News will accept election-related letters to the editor until five days prior to the date of the election (for example, if the election falls on May 19, letters will be accepted until May 14).

Election letters should be no longer than 400 words. Letters must include the author’s name, street address and daytime telephone number (phone number not for publication).

Preference is given to letters addressing local races and candidates. We will not publish letters that promote the candidate’s schedule or seek contributions. All letters are subject to editing.
