The city of Philomath is accepting applications from bands interested in performing in this summer’s Music in the Park concert series.
The free concerts take place at Philomath City Park with five available dates — June 28, July 8, July 26, Aug. 12 and Aug. 23. The events run from 6-8 p.m.
Bands of all genres are invited to apply. Performances are paid at $300 per show.
Groups must provide their own amplification equipment and microphones, though power is available at the park’s covered gazebo. All performances must be appropriate for a family audience.
The deadline to apply is by the end of the day on Jan. 26. Officials noted that completion of the band application does not guarantee selection. Chosen performers will be contacted by the city and required to sign a performance agreement outlining expectations.
The online application form includes space for band information, music genre, performance samples, social media links and date availability. Applicants may also choose to donate their performance compensation to the Philomath Performing Arts Benefit Fund.
Local businesses or individuals interested in supporting the series can learn more about sponsorship opportunities on the city’s website.
