THURSDAY, JAN. 23

• 11:51 p.m. — BCSO arrested a 28-year-old Philomath man on a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants (alcohol .15 through .19) at the scene of a one-vehicle crash at Ervin Road and Peterson Road. The responding deputy discovered a 2004 Nissan Frontier pickup in the ditch and reported that the driver showed signs of impairment. The driver was taken to Benton County Jail and the vehicle was towed from the scene.

SUNDAY, FEB. 2

• 5:02 p.m. — BCSO arrested a 43-year-old Corvallis man on misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants (alcohol .20 or above) and reckless driving during a traffic stop at McBee Road and West Hills Road. The driver reportedly had a blood-alcohol content of 26%.

• 7:27 p.m. — BCSO arrested a 26-year-old Corvallis man on two warrants for failure to appear following an incident at a Decker Road residence. A deputy had been dispatched to the location after a caller stated that he had picked up a hitchhiker and dropped the man off at the Decker Road location. However, the caller didn’t believe the hitchhiker lived there and was also concerned because of the way he was inappropriately dressed for the weather. BCSO found the man in a sleeping bag behind the residence and gave him a ride to Corvallis while issuing citations in lieu of custody.

THURSDAY, FEB. 6

• 4:40 p.m. — BCSO responded to a one-vehicle crash near milepost 6 on Marys Peak Road involving a 1995 Volvo 850 sedan that appeared to have slid off the snowy roadway and down an embankment. The vehicle was unoccupied. The following day, the deputy spoke with the registered owner, a 34-year-old Corvallis man, who stated that he planned to arrange for a tow. Damage to the vehicle appeared to be minimal.

SATURDAY, FEB. 8

• 7:19 a.m. — BCSO responded to a West Hills Road address for a report from a 76-year-old Philomath man that a 1998 Volvo V70 that appeared to have been in a crash was left in his driveway overnight. The deputy contacted the owner, an 18-year-old Philomath man who admitted that the previous night between 10 and 11 p.m., he had crashed into the north ditch at Northeast Conifer and Northeast Conser. The motorist said he was able to get his vehicle out of the ditch and drove until it ran out of gas. Another deputy found the Volvo’s grill at the crash site and confirmed that there was no property damage.

SUNDAY, FEB. 9

•10:43 a.m. — BCSO pulled over to assist the driver of a 2003 Honda Accord on Main Street near Clemens Mill Road that was disabled with three damaged tires. The driver, a 19-year-old Corvallis woman, reported that the damage occurred when she swerved to avoid hitting a deer. She planned to have the vehicle towed later in the day.

TUESDAY, FEB. 11

• 6:26 p.m. — BCSO arrested a 55-year-old Waldport woman on a warrant for failure to appear out of Albany Municipal Court during a traffic stop on Highway 20 near Blodgett. The woman was cited and released.
