MONDAY, DEC. 22

• 9:51 a.m. — BCSO issued a criminal citation to a 49-year-old man from Vancouver, Washington, on a charge of possession of methamphetamine during a traffic stop on Highway 20 near Priest Road.

• 8:42 p.m. — BCSO responded to a single-vehicle crash on Kings Valley Highway near Labere Road. No injuries were reported. According to the report, a 46-year-old man from Harbor City, California, was driving a BMW X1 when he left the roadway and struck a tree. The crash blocked both lanes of travel.

TUESDAY, DEC. 23

• 8:43 a.m. — BCSO responded to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 20 a few miles east of Blodgett involving a semitruck that crashed into a tree. According to the report, a 46-year-old Monroe man was driving a semitruck-flatbed trailer combination west on the highway when he left the roadway, entered a ditch on the north side and crashed through blackberries and into a tree. It was determined that approximately 70 gallons of diesel fuel had been spilled after the truck’s auxiliary tank had been ripped off the passenger side of the semi. 

WEDNESDAY, DEC. 24

• 2:39 p.m. — BCSO responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Bellfountain Road and Southwest Airport Avenue. No injuries were reported. According to the report, a 19-year-old Corvallis man driving a Toyota FJ Cruiser pulled in front of a 1999 Toyota 4Runner driven by a 69-year-old Corvallis woman and caused a T-bone crash.

FRIDAY, DEC. 26

• 5:09 a.m. — BCSO responded to a two-vehicle crash on Main Street near North Seventh Street involving a large truck and a Philomath Police patrol vehicle. According to the report, a 38-year-old Monmouth man driving a 1999 Peterbilt pulled into traffic unaware of an oncoming vehicle and crashed into the driver’s side of the patrol car. No injuries were reported. The drivers exchanged information.

SATURDAY, DEC. 27

• 7:04 p.m. — BCSO arrested a 20-year-old Siletz man on misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants (drugs) and minor in possession of marijuana after a traffic stop for allegedly speeding on Highway 20 in Blodgett.

SUNDAY, DEC. 28

• 1:03 a.m. — BCSO arrested a 58-year-old Portland man on a warrant for failure to appear on an ordinance violation while contacting him in the parking lot of an apartment complex. The man was issued a criminal citation in lieu of custody.

MONDAY, DEC. 29

• 12:39 p.m. — BCSO responded to a littering complaint on Woods Creek Road involving large tractor tires that had been discarded. The deputy later arrested a 47-year-old Philomath man on a misdemeanor charge of littering.

• 3:16 p.m. — BCSO issued a warning to a 60-year-old Philomath man on Greasy Creek Road for a barking dog that was disturbing a nearby neighbor.

TUESDAY, DEC. 30

• 7:43 p.m. — BCSO responded to a report of a traffic hazard at Maxfield Creek Road and Ward Road in the Kings Valley vicinity involving left rear dual wheels that had fallen off a work truck that was towing a concrete pump trailer. The truck and trailer were stuck in the middle of the eastbound lane. The truck was towed from the scene and the company that owns the vehicle retrieved the trailer.

WEDNESDAY, DEC. 31

• 7:14 a.m. — BCSO responded to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 20 near Springer Road. According to the report, a 50-year-old Corvallis man was driving a Kia Rio west on Highway 20 and hit a patch of ice while negotiating a lefthand curve in the road. The driver lost control of the vehicle, crossed the centerline and crashed into a chain-link fence on the south side of the highway. The property owner was provided with the driver’s information.

• 10:32 a.m. — BCSO responded to a report of a 71-year-old Philomath woman who was bitten by a dog in the McDonald Forest parking lot off Oak Creek on Dec. 29. The woman said she was bitten while trying to protect her leashed dog when it was attacked by another dog. No owner information could be determined.

• 1:05 p.m. — BCSO responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash on Marys Peak Road near milepost 8 involving a car that went off the roadway and into a tree. According to the report, a Honda Civic was found 5 to 8 feet off the road and was high-centered on downed logs. The deputy did not find the driver at the scene. The registered owner was a 23-year-old Woodburn man but the identity of the vehicle’s driver could not be confirmed.

• 5:31 p.m. — BCSO arrested a 40-year-old Alsea man on a misdemeanor charge of failing to register as a sex offender during a traffic stop on Highway 34 a few miles outside of Philomath. The man was issued a criminal citation in lieu of custody.

FRIDAY, JAN. 2

• 3:25 p.m. — BCSO responded to a single-vehicle crash on Summit Highway involving a 32-year-old Eddyville man who went off the roadway while driving a Nissan Titan. The man was transported to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. According to the report, the man drove off the highway while looking at his phone.
